Spin, arrogance, and finger-pointing aren't exclusive to either the right or the left

Politicians lie? People are arrogant? Really???

Read any top political article's comments and see the people who point fingers and say, "It's the right wing nuts trying to spin things" or "Lefties are liberals" or "George Bush is a liar" or "John Kerry is a cheater" or any variation. What it boils down to is that the accusations made by each side at the other side are pointless. It should be pretty obvious that spin happens. (That'd make a great bumper sticker...) We have people who want to win something and will go to great lengths to do so. The word for that, I believe, is "politics," and you've got to have pretty poor vision to say that the other side is doing it but your side isn't.

What sucks for Americana is that we have to figure out whom to vote for while trying to sift through all the spin, half-truths, lies, and mud that fly in these elections and, when it comes down to it, figure out who is a better choice for running our country.

I think the answer is obvious: Neither. But as changing the big two is not an option at this point, I have to keep trudging through the news reports, articles, and opinions to try and make my decision. I'll be glad when it's all over and, looking at the two candidates, I'm not sure it will matter much which one wins, anyway.

(arrogantly, resignedly, cynically, and stalwartly,)
